Our Neon Ready-to-Roll Icing Multipacks have been refreshed for 2020, with brand new packaging and a brand new colour included in the pack (black).
To celebrate, we’ve got a recipe for this vibrant neon starfish cupcake, which uses all the Neon colours, as well as our lush Vanilla Frosting. This creative cupcake is a perfect blend of simplicity and textural detail.

Prepare your equipment:
You will need; Cooled boiled water, fine brush, spoon, rolling pin, icing sugar, knife, circle cutter, cocktail stick, and a straw with one end shaped into a smile. NOTE: All decorations are attached to the cupcake with water.
Making the sea floor:
Mix the Vanilla Frosting with a spoon. Mask the top of the cupcake with a thin layer of Vanilla Frosting using the back of the spoon.
On a clean dry surface knead Turquoise Icing until pliable. Dust the work surface with icing sugar and pin out the Turquoise Icing to 2-3 mm thick.
Cut 1 large circle and use to cover the cupcake.
Knead a medium ball of Fuchsia Icing until pliable. Press down with the palm of your hand and pinch out 5 legs, each 1 to a point. Mark each leg up the middle with the cocktail stick. Use the end of the paint brush to add texture. Press with the end of the paintbrush to create eye sockets. Create a smile with the straw.
For the eyes, shape 2 tiny balls of Jet Black Icing and attach.
For the Yellow coral, shape 4 extra small balls, mark each one up the side with the cocktail stick.
For the Tiger Orange coral, shape 5-6 extra small balls of Icing into long cone shapes.
For the Fuchsia Pink coral, shape 3-4 small balls, flatten between the palm of your hands and thin out the edge with your finger and thumb. Ruffle the edge and pinch at the base.
Attach all the coral and the star fish to the cupcake.
