Improve Your Game Day Bakes – Euro 2020 (2021)

Friday 18th June 2021

With the Euros kicking off last week, will this be the year we see football come home?

We have waited a long year for this tension, but we can finally celebrate England, Scotland and Wales and The Euros 2020. Although we can now go to pubs and bars, what is better than a night in with friends and family, huddled around the big screen.

All the excitement means you’re going to need some good snacks. We have you covered, to make sure you have everything you need for your fabulous football themed bakes to share with everyone (remembering the social distancing rules, of course).

Or even a fun activity for the younger players – with football-themed cake making kits, the perfect way to get everyone involved and have some long-awaited fun.

Whatever celebrations you decide on during Euros 2020, we have you covered. We certainly have plenty of colours available for you to try – maybe to create some Euro Team’s Flag or even to re-create some amazing bakes that have been featured, created by some of our talented bakers (scroll for more). Make sure you’re ready to get behind your favourite or sweepstake team and show your support. Why not have your own healthy competition with friends and family by creating bakes to support your sweepstake team – the ideal way to get into the competitive spirit.

Pitch Perfect

Thinking about throwing a Euro’s party? What about a table centrepiece to show off using our Football Cake Recipe?

Heads up – don’t mistake it for a real football. A round sponge cake iced to look like a football ideal for all occasions, the trick is to use a Christmas pudding shaped tin.

Check out more football-themed bakes below to give you some inspiration for your own creations.

Get Behind your Team!

GOAL!

This Liverpool shirt cake has been created by using our Renshaw Red Extra Sugar Paste and Royal Icing – both for the perfect finish. Why not have a go at creating your team’s shirt or flag this Euros 2020! The grass has been piped to give a textured effect. Why not try this method on cupcakes, and modelling a football to place on top as the finishing touch. Remember, if you re-create any ideas to tag us – we love to see what you create.

A TV Stopper!

We think the football needs to be paused just so we can all appreciate this cake!

This amazing cake has been created by the very talented Melle Blush. For a more realistic look, Melle Blush has added the football’s stich effect – this is defiantly worth trying when you create your football cakes.

She really should take the trophy home for this cake. Don’t forget to check out more of Melle Blush’s bakes over on Instagram @sabineguilhem.

The Big Supporters

Get behind your team like @oh_suga_glasgow_ has with these bakes.

These cupcakes have been finished with a range of our Rainbow Dust ProGel. The perfect way to create your desired shade of colour to match your team. Who doesn’t want to fill their face with cupcakes? Don’t forget to check out more of Oh Suga bakes over on Instagram.

Create Your Teams Colours

We have gone with Belgium and England for the example – Black, Yellow and Red ProGel colours. But you can customise your colours to get behind your team – just in time to make some cupcakes to celebrate winning your work’s sweepstake. ProGel colours are also a great match for our Personalise Me Frosting.

Feeling adventurous? Why not create a flag with our coloured Ready to Roll Icing.

Cake and football = WINNER!

That is all for now! We hope you’re feeling ready to celebrate the long-awaited Euros. Let us know who you are rooting for in the Euros 2020 (2021) by tagging us in your bakes. Thank you to all our bakers for tagging us in these amazing creations; make sure you check out their accounts.
