A fine sponge filled with fresh buttercream. Exquisitely crafted fondant icing cake toppers. Marzipan flowers. A moist and delicious chocolate cake. These are a few of our favourite things.
Maybe it’s because Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, but at the moment we’ve got a lot of love to give, so we thought we’d give some special attention to a select few wonderful cake bakers and bloggers. We’ve loved working with these cake makers over the last 12 months (has it really been that long since the website launched?) and think that more people should know about just how amazing they are.
And if you need further proof of how great these cake makers are then check each blogger’s site to find an awesome competition that we’re running with each of them, giving you the chance to win a £50 voucher to spend on renshawbaking.com or a selection of Renshaw’s products.
Ruth at the Pink Whisk makes some of the most beautiful and delicious cakes we’ve ever seen, and we’ve been lucky enough to have her share recipes and decorating tips with us, such as these sweet rainbow cupcakes and unicorn cake toppers. Ruth is running a competition on her website which you can find here. This year Ruth is launching a new book called Creative Eclairs. It’s de for publication on the 14th of April, but you can visit her site and get a signed pre-order copy in March.

If anyone deserves some cake love it’s the founder of the incredible Clandestine Cake Club, a celebration of the wonder that is cake. Lynn started the Clandestine Cake Club in 2010, as a means to bring together cake lovers to share their creations and talk shop. From humble beginnings it’s grown to have clubs in every region of the UK and even in such exotic climes as The Cayman Islands! As a community builder Lynn deserves tons of love.

Suzy makes some of the most mouth-watering cakes we’ve seen, especially her Lorraine Cake Club Competition winning creation: chocolate and banana cake with peanut butter frosting. But what we really love about Suzy is her desire to make baking fun and accessible for everyone. Suzy bakes with her family and she’s created a fantastic range of Bake With Suzy Baking Kits. Each kit comes in a beautiful tin and contains all the ingredients pre-measured plus an easy to follow recipe card, making them the perfect gift to give someone the baking bug! This year Suzy is expanding the range and you can find more information on her website.

Rachel took part in our 2014 Baking Trends Pinterest campaign, selecting cakes and baked goods that she predicts will be a trend this year. She’s also hosting a competition with us on her website which you can find here. Rachel’s blog turns two this month, as does her Bolton Clandestine Cake Club, so congratulations to Rachel. Rachel is also big on bundt cakes and made a delicious Simnel one last year using our marzipan, which we urge you all to try at home.
