Galaxy Star Biscuits

These star shaped biscuits are out of this world! If you like a bit of sparkle, why not try creating the fabulous golden star ones too?!

Top Tips:

Sprinkle a small layer of either icing sugar or cornflour onto your surface and rolling pin to prevent it from sticking.

Did you know, you can also dip your biscuits into our delicious Personalise Me! Plain Icing instead of using fondant icing? Simply add a few drops of Rainbow Dust ProGel into the icing and mix. Place the top of the biscuit into the mixture and allow to dry before adding your extra details on top!

Baking ingredients

  • Prepare your equipment: non-stick rolling pin, star shaped cutter (used for both baking the biscuits and to cut out the fondant icing), icing sugar for dusting your surface, food safe paintbrushes.
  • 10 pre-baked biscuits (recipe of your choice)

Decorating ingredients

  • 250 g Yellow ‘Just Roll With It’ Fondant Icing
  • Rainbow Dust Click Twist Edible Glue Brush
  • 10 g Rainbow Dust Sparkle Dust Spray Golden Belle
  • 3 g Rainbow Dust Lustre Powder Metallic Gold Treasure
  • 25 g Baby Blue Rainbow Dust ProGel Food Colour Gel
  • 25 g Pink Rainbow Dust ProGel Food Colour Gel
  • 250 g White ‘Just Roll With It’ Fondant Icing
  • 250 g Dahlia Black Flower and Modelling Paste
  • Rainbow Dust Metallic Paint Pearlescent White

Instructions

Decorating the galaxy themed biscuits:

Step 1

Cut the White ‘Just Roll With It’ Fondant Icing 250g in half and colour one half with 2 drops of Baby Blue ProGel and the other with 2 drops of Pink ProGel. Mix both separately until the colour is fully blended.

Step 2

Next, knead a 250g packet of Dahlia Black Flower and Modelling Paste until it is pliable and roll it out until it is around 3cm in thickness.

Step 3

Break off small pieces of the pink and blue fondant icing (from step 1) and press them randomly into the black Flower and Modelling Paste. Leave some big gaps in between each piece.

Step 4

Gently knead the icing together until the colours are starting to blend and then roll the icing out into a sheet that is 1cm in thickness.

Step 5

Use a small star shape cutter to cut out star shapes from the rolled out fondant.

Step 6

Use the Click Twist Edible Glue Brush and cover one side of the star fondant icing and place down onto the star biscuit. Repeat this until half of your biscuits are covered. (Leave the other half to create the golden ones if you wish).

Step 7

To add the star effect, dip one end of the food safe paint brush into the Rainbow Dust Pearlescent White Metallic Paint and flick it all over the biscuits. To avoid making a mess, lay the biscuits onto a sheet of parchment paper. The closer you are to the biscuit with the paintbrush, the closer the ‘stars’ will be together.

Step 8

Add extra sparkle on top with a few pumps of Rainbow Dust Golden Belle Sparkle Dust.

Decorating the golden star themed biscuits::

Step 9

Gently knead the yellow ‘Just Roll With It’ Fondant Icing until soft and pliable, and roll out on a surface lightly dusted with icing sugar. Cut out star shapes using the same small star shaped cutter from baking the biscuits.

Step 10

Next, use the Click Twist Edible Glue Brush and cover one side of the star fondant icing and place down onto the star biscuit. Repeat this until your biscuits are all covered.

Step 11

Dip the end of a paintbrush into the Rainbow Dust Metallic Gold Lustre, and buff the lustre dust on top of the fondant covered biscuit in circular motions. Apply a second layer on top to make the gold colour more vibrant.

Step 12

Finish them off with a few pumps of the Golden Belle Sparkle Dust Spray!
