What a year it’s been for renshawbaking.com and the Renshaw community! We’ve seen weddings, engagements, birthdays and all occasions in between. You have all made it a special year for us by sharing your wonderfully decorated creations by the thousands. We take a look back now and reminisce at the most memorable images shared by the Renshaw community.
Shared by Dawn Rosalind Robinson in our Valentine’s Day Competition, the red and white design really hit the right love notes for us. Perfect precision and faultless modelling made it an instant hit on Facebook.
Cakes and Catwalks featured in our Easter Blogger Competition [ link = http://www.renshawbaking.com/blog/easter/bloggers-easter-bakes.html ]. We chose them for their simple design and graphic colours (a big trend for 2014 we predict!).
Who could forget T C Cakes’s sleeping puppy? Posted on a bank holiday weekend – this little fondant icing chappie went viral and caused us to do a double take on the amount of likes on Tuesday morning!
Ann Coleman’s bathing beauty made us and the Renshaw Facebook community [link = facebook] smile. Created for a friend that loves ducks, it gained over 100 likes in just a few hours.
The very talented (and runner up of the Great British Bake Off) Ruth Clemens aka The Pink Whisk created these showstopper cupcakes made from a rainbow of ready to roll icing colours. They were an instant hit on her Facebook page too!
We were thrilled when Karen Williams’ shared her take on The Pink Whisk’s cupcakes. She said she’d been inspired by them and created this.
A giant Cheshire cat, Alice disappearing down the rabbit hole and a tea party. We loved Gill Dobbie’s mad hatter tea party cake. Incredible skill has gone into covering and modelling the cake and we had to share this a second time in this blog post.
Joanne Bungay made this cake to celebrate Noah’s 1st birthday and as we’re approaching renshawbaking.com’s 1st birthday we couldn’t help include it as a mini celebration to us too.
Finishing with this Nordic design cake by Lesley Bassett – it’s included in the Renshaw Christmas Cake Hall of Fame and featured in the video. We were in awe at the simple design, carried out with expert precision.
Do you have any cakes that made a big impression on you during 2013? Share them with us on Facebook and Twitter.
Have a very Happy New Year from all at Renshaw Baking!
