Also known as a ‘pull me up’ cake, the tsunami cake trend has taken over. In this video you will learn how to cover a cake board, make an ‘ice cream’ out of sugarpaste, and most importantly, how to build and pull up your ‘tsunami’ layer for a jaw-dropping finish.

Baking ingredients

  • 250 g Renshaw Chocolate Flavour RTR Icing
  • 400 g Renshaw Personalise Me! Plain Icing
  • Rainbow Dust Pink Progel
  • Rainbow Dust Yellow Progel
  • 3 Chocolate Cakes (6 inch)
  • Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Decorating ingredients

  • Rainbow Dust Pearlescent Rose Sugar Crystals
  • 250 g Renshaw Pastel Yellow RTR Icing
  • 250 g Renshaw Pink RTR Icing
  • 400 g Renshaw Belgian Chocolate Ganache
  • Ice Cream Cone


You will need the following equipment:

Step 1

10 or 12" cake board, ice cream scoop, piping bags, icing smoother, palette knife, scissors, rolling pin, paintbrush, small bowl of water, icing sugar (for dusting), small knife, ribbon (optional), 3 spoons, 1 mixing bowl, cocktail sticks, 1 paper straw, 1 wooden skewer, and a sheet of acetate.
