Nikon Camera Cake

The man’s daughter asked me to make this to match the real Nikon camera that he has and adores using daily. He said he couldn’t tell the difference between the cake and his camera! Lol.

Baking ingredients

  • 450 g Margarine
  • 450 g Sugar
  • 450 g Self raising flour
  • 7 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla extract

Decorating ingredients

  • 250 g Unsalted butter
  • 500 g Icing sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 500 g Black fondant

Instructions

Step 1

Blend the margarine, vanilla and sugar together then alternately add the eggs and flour.

Step 2

Pour the batter into two 8 inch round cake tins and bake at 160 fan for 50 minutes. Leave to cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 3

Chop and shape the cake, sticking it together with buttercream made from the unsalted butter, vanilla and icing sugar. Totally coat the cake in buttercream. Chill for at least an hour then roll out the black fondant and stick it to the cake being careful not to rip the icing. Finish with all the embellishments you wish to put on it.
