Easter Chick Cupcakes

Super cute yellow fondant vanilla cupcakes decorated to look like little chicks! 😀

Baking ingredients

  • 100 g plain flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 40 g butter, softened
  • 140 g caster sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • 120 ml milk
  • Half tsp vanilla essence

Decorating ingredients

  • 250 g Renshaw Yellow Ready to Roll Icing
  • 250 g Renshaw Poppy Red Ready to Roll Icing
  • Small chocolate chips

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 190°C and line muffin cups with papers.

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, and then beat in egg.

Step 3

Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Add to butter and sugar, alternating with milk, and beat well. Stir in the vanilla.

Step 4

Divide evenly among cupcake cases and bake for 18 minutes. Let cool in pans.

Step 5

Knead your yellow icing and roll out on a little icing sugar.

Step 6

Using a small cup, cut out small circles of yellow fondant icing approximately the same width as the cupcakes.

Step 7

Take a chunk of your red icing, knead it and roll out. Use a knife to cut out small shapes for beaks and comb.

Step 8

Wet the back of the yellow fondant and stick onto cupcake when cool. Add beak and comb, and 2 chocolate chips for eyes.
