New Cheese Flavour Icing

At Renshaw we like to be at the cutting-edge of the trends, and if there’s one major foodie obsession at the moment it’s good old cheese. Whether you like a bit of smokey cheese with your traditional cheddar, a slice of delicious cheese tucked in some seeded malt bread with organic lettuce, tomatoes and a hint of lemon mayonnaise, or you’re besotted with Heston Blumethal’s cheese ice cream it seems you just can’t get enough.

And that’s why we’re going to launching a new cheese flavoured icing this summer. This isn’t a spur of the moment decision, after all cheese and cakes don’t seem like natural partners. But we’ve had a constant stream of requests and inquiries about a cheese icing product that we thought it was high time the baking world got a taste of cheese mania.

Our MD Robin Mountain believes that this will help bring Renshaw icing to an even wider audience. “At Renshaw we will always listen to our customers and one thing we’ve been hearing again and again, from Blackpool to Belgravia is: Give us cheese icing. Cheese has had a real resurgence in the culinary world lately, and is no longer seen as the preserve of the elite. We’ve been testing flavours carefully seeing which style of cheese lends itself best to mixing with fruit cake, sponges, cupcakes and biscuits. It’s been a tricky process because obviously the fat content in a particular cheese does affect the taste, but we feel we’ve really managed to get it right. It combines the best parts of cheese, and we’re sure it will be very popular.”
