Insights are at the core of our Commercial Team, influencing our new product development, and the tutorials and inspiration we create and share. Our insights are also key to supporting our retail, manufacturing, wholesale and food service customers by providing trusted data, direction and innovative ideas for the future. We regularly review market trends and data, Kantar reports, engage with consumers and customers via surveys, and share our findings with our customers.
Big Trends Survey
Each year we take the temperature of the nation’s kitchens in our Big Trends Survey, reflecting on everything from favourite bakes, occasions and flavours, to household information and trends for the following year. We regularly receive around 5000 entries for each Big Trends Survey, and the data we receive is invaluable for reacting to and creating baking and cake decorating trends, and for developing new products that meet the needs of consumers. You can download a full copy of our Big Trends Survey 2021 here.
If you’d like more information about our surveys or our 2022 results in full, please contact us.
Alternatively you can sign up to our Business Support Newsletter to receive our latest insights before anybody else.
Our monthly ‘What’s Happening?’ update gives you a snapshot of trends across the UK and US markets, from food and drinks to homeware, fashion and beauty. Reviewing developing trends is a key part of our product development, communications and applications support.

We work closely with Kantar and get quarterly updates on the cake decorating market. We overlay this with our EPOS sales and additional trend information to be able to both reflect back on what’s working well and predict what we think will happen in the future – not only in home baking but also into other parts of the food & drink market.
