ENTER THE GREAT RENSHAW BAKE OFF! WEEK 8 – Wedding Cake With Modelled Flowers

Can you believe another year of the Great British Bake Off is nearly over? It’s been an exciting season, with controversy, thrills and spills, as well as some incredible baking on display.

For our quarter-final week we’re testing your skill with multi-tiered cakes and flower modelling with marzipan or icing. We want you to bake a wedding cake with a minimum of 3 tiers and decorate it with marzipan or icing flowers. To add an extra bit of variety we want you to ensure that your flowers are of varying sizes too.

This week we’re delighted to have the incredible Terry Tang, of Terry Tang Designer Cakes, judging the competition to cast his eye over your efforts. Originally a builder and stone mason, Terry now sculpts stunning creations in icing and marzipan. His skill at designing and decorating cakes has been recognised by multiple awards including the Baking Industry Awards ‘Celebration Cake Business of The Year 2013’ and 4-times ‘Celebration Cake Maker Of The Year’.

Terry will be judging your skill at creating a multi-tiered wedding cake decorated with a variety of different sized icing or marzipan flowers.

Remember we’ll be judging you on the following:

  • Theme Appropriateness
  • Skill
  • Creativity
  • Finish

As usual entry is via social media. Tweet a picture of your wedding cake with modelled flowers using the hashtag #renshawbakeoff or upload it to our Facebook page.

Because this is the quarter-final we’ve decided to increase the prize once again to a massive £125 voucher to spend at renshawbaking.com.


  1. Entrants and winners must be aged 18 or over and be residents of the United Kingdom.
  2. The competition is not open to employees (or their immediate families) of the Promoter, its agents or anyone professionally connected to the promotion.
  3. No purchase necessary to enter.
  4. Entries must be submitted by the 28th of September.
  5. Winners are chosen at Renshaw’s discretion.
  6. The prize includes a £125 voucher off one order at www.renshawbaking.com before Monday 29th of December 2014.
  7. Renshaw reserve the right to feature competition responses and prize winner creations on the renshawbaking.com website and in Renshaw Baking communications.

  9. Competition entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday the 28th of September 2014.
  10. The winner will be announced week commencing Monday 29th of September 2014.
