ENTER THE GREAT RENSHAW BAKE OFF! WEEK 5 – Marzipan Cakes

We thought long and hard about issuing you a Baked Alaska challenge this week, but decided against it, one Bin Gate is enough for us. So instead we’re asking you to get your almond hats on and create a marzipan-inspired cake.

Our celebrity judge this week is the fabulous Fiona Cairns. With her dual training as a graphic designer and pastry chef, Fiona’s creations are always stunning works of art. Fiona and her team create cakes for Harrods, Selfridges, Waitrose and La Bon Marche, creating more than 2 million cakes a year! 

Fiona will be judging your skill at using marzipan in a cake. That’s it. You can choose what you bake and everything else, but make sure it includes marzipan in an interesting and exciting way if you want to be in with a shout of winning.  

Once again we’ve put together a PDF for the challenge. It outlines the theme, what you’re being judged on and also provides you with a sample recipe to serve as inspiration and some tips on using marzipan.

Like in previous weeks you can enter the competition via social media. Tweet a picture of your marzipan delight using the hashtag #renshawbakeoff or upload it to our Facebook page. 

We’re also upping the ante this week and the lucky winner will get a £50 Renshaw Baking voucher to spend at renshawbaking.com.  

CHALLENGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Entrants and winners must be aged 18 or over and be residents of the United Kindgom.
  2. The competition is not open to employees (or their immediate families) of the Promoter, its agents or anyone professionally connected to the promotion.
  3. No purchase necessary to enter.
  4. Entries must be submitted by 07th of September.
  5. Winners are chosen at Renshaw’s discretion.
  6. The prize includes a £50 voucher off one order at www.renshawbaking.com before Monday 8th of December 2014. 
  7. Renshaw reserve the right to feature competition responses and prize winner creations on the renshawbaking.com website and in Renshaw Baking communications.

  9. Competition entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday 07th of September 2014. 
  10. The winner will be announced week commencing Monday 08th of September 2014.
