Easter Competition: The Cake and Bake Show Manchester Ticket Winners

In our Easter hunt for a new take on easter cake, we asked you to enter your Easter cakes and bakes, whether an inventive new way of making use of marzipan, the crafty inclusion of chocolate in your cake decorating or an inspired new take on an Easter theme.

We received some fabulous entries from the cake decorating masses, all in the hope of winning one of five pairs of tickets to The Cake and Bake Show Manchester this coming Friday 05 to Sunday 07 April, plus two tickets to one of five Renshaw sponsored Sugarcraft Academy Classes being held at the show on Saturday 06 April to help further hone your sugar paste skills.

Easter eggs and bunnies were the main inspiration, with the three winners of the public vote below, plus two additional entries that showed real creativity and skill – all fabulous ideas for next year’s Easter cake creation. Congratulations to all our winners! We’ll be in touch soon.

Giant Easter Cupcake by Jackie Heaton

Receiving the most competition votes, this Giant Easter Cupcake makes use of a few chocolately seasonal favourites, not to mention some adorable fluffy easter Chick adornments. Almost looks too good to eat!

Easter Animal Cake by Hayley Wisken

Three tiers of Easter themed animals, the fluffy lamb, sweet chick and carrot-toting Easter Bunny make for an impressive statement. Showcasing cake carving, cake covering and 2D modelling skills, this cake would by the highlight of any Easter dinner table.

Alternative Easter Bunny Cake by Natasha Fairclough

Gaining a few entries to ensure its entry to the top five, this creative interpretation of Easter Cake takes the Easter bunny to a whole new level. From the 2D models around the side of the cake and the painted Happy Easter message, it’s certainly the new take we were looking for.

Easter Cupcakes by Rebecca Currie

The perfect flavour for Easter, these cupcakes frosted in chocolate and decorated with mini chick, flower and disappearing bunny models are too adorable for words – we particularly like the modelled ready to roll icing carrots.

Vanilla cupcakes topped with an Easter bunny scene, these cutter created bunnies complete with floral fields and blue sky backgrounds are a lovely detailed play on the Easter theme.
