This Easter, we’re on the hunt for a new take on Easter cake. Whilst the iconic Simnel cake is the traditional Easter bake, we think it’s time to breathe new life into this classic and get creative. Here at Renshaw, we have taken inspiration from the season and created quirky carrot cake bites and an elegant snowdrop cake, but would love to see what you can come up with!
Whether its inventive new ways of making use of marzipan, the crafty inclusion of chocolate in your cake decorating or an inspired new take on an Easter theme, we can’t wait to see them all, though this time around, you guys are the judge. You’ll be voting for your fellow bakers Easter cakes, with the top entries winning tickets to an exciting cake show this coming April.
All you have to do is upload your Easter cake baking and decorating creations on our Facebook competition tab. Simply share your image and you’ll be in with a chance of winning one of 5 pairs of tickets to The Cake and Bake Show Manchester – an extravaganza of all things baking from bread baking to sugar crafting, with a few celebrity appearances mixed in for good measure – taking place from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th April 2013.
As sponsors of the Renshaw Sugarcraft Academy, we’ll also be throwing in five pairs of tickets to sugar craft classes throughout Saturday 6th April. Whether it’s a leopard skin sugar craft shoe step by step with Frances McNaughton or a designer handbag icing demonstration with Paul Bradford, as part of your prize you will receive one of 5 pairs of class tickets up for grabs, helping you develop your sugar craft skills and take some inspiration home for future cakes and bakes.
The competition entries are open from Tuesday 19 March close Thursday 28 March at midnight, just in case you’re too busy getting creative with marzipan or are up to your elbows in chocolate ready to roll icing in the run up to Easter weekend. Voting will then take place from Friday 29 March to Sunday 31 March, with the winners to be contacted directly by Renshaw.
