At Renshaw, we’ve have been celebrating all things Easter cake, from the traditional marzipan covered Simnel Cake to more creative creations incorporating chocolate flavours, and simply using the season as inspiration for our cake decorating endeavours.
Designed and decorated by Sandra Monger, winner of the Renshaw sponsored Celebration Cake Decorator of the Year at the Baking Industry Awards 2012, this incredibly detailed Easter Basket cake made exclusively for Renshaw Baking has had us hopping with excitement here at Renshaw HQ.
As well as running her own wedding and cake decorating outfit in Bath, Sandra teaches cake decorating and sugar craft at The City of Bath College, passing on her exquisite icing and piping skills on to eager students.
Using the Easter bunny as inspiration, this colourful character cakes is choc full of character and skill, from the painstakingly embossed Easter basket complete with handle constructed from flower and modelling paste, all based around a carefully carved seasonal chocolate and orange cake with the centrepiece bunny made from Renshaw Grey, White, Black and Pink Ready to Roll icing.
With natural marzipan and chocolate ready to roll icing centred Easter Eggs covered in a rainbow of Renshaw coloured sugar pastes and the tiny detailed flowers and grass making up the garden scene at the base of the chocolate orange sponge cake sandwiched and masked with orange buttercream, why hunt elsewhere for inspiration for your Easter Sunday cake?
