With the Great British Bake Off well underway we’ve been salivating over the incredible cakes and bakes that this year’s contestants have been putting together.
In the third week of our own Great Renshaw Bake Off, we want you to prove your frosting piping skills, and to test you we’re picking the theme of flower cupcakes.
This week your entries will be judged by famed sugarcrafter Frances McNaughton [www.franklysweet.co.uk]. Frances is a demonstrator for The British Sugarcraft Guild, expert tutor and author of several books on the art of sugarcrafting in all its many forms. She will be judging your cupcakes with a critical eye so make sure you pour 110% into your flower cupcakes.
Specifically, Frances will be looking at your piping skills, paying particular attention to the precision and quality of the piping as well as how creatively you incorporate it into the theme of flower cupcakes. Of course you can incorporate other elements of sugarcraft on your cupcakes but they must feature piped frosting in some capacity.
To help you out with your cupcakes we’ve created another handy guide to give you some tips on how to successfully pipe flowers using frosting.
Remember the criteria you’ll be judged on are:
Like in previous weeks you can enter the competition via social media. Tweet a picture of your flower cupcake using the hashtag #renshawbakeoff or upload it to our Facebook page.
Up for grabs is a £25 Renshaw Baking voucher for you to spend at renshawbaking.com.
You have your challenge, so get baking. We can’t wait to see your cupcakes!
