To celebrate the birthday of the esteemed author and illustrator Beatrix Potter on 28th July, we have collected together some cake inspiration featuring some of the wonderful characters from her books! We hope that you will be inspired by these wonderful designs and brilliant tutorials that detail how to make some Beatrix Potter inspired characters.
We love this bright and adorable design from Extreme Cake Maker Molly Robbins from Molly’s Creative Cakes. Her detailed Peter Rabbit model and bright pops of colour help to bring this wonderful birthday cake design to life. We also love Molly’s attention to detail in her modelling of Jemima Puddle-Duck and the accompanying vegetable patch elements.
This wonderful pastel three-tier creation is by Stacey Anderson of Cakes By Stacy Anderson. We especially like the beautiful book taking pride of place on the second tier, something many young children have grown up with!
These pretty Christening cakes from Stacey Anderson are full of dainty details, from the ladybug on the bunting, the blades of grass and flowers to the bright toadstools. You can use pale pastels or white for covering the cake which draws more attention to the detail in your models and decorations.
Zoe Hopkinson of Zoe’s Fancy Cakes is internationally known for her YouTube channel, and it is there that you’ll find step-by-step tutorials of how to create a range of models and cake designs. These three videos show you how to create some well-known characters from the books!
Thank you so much for taking the time to have a look at our Beatrix Potter inspired blog, and we hope that you have found some inspiration for your next cake design.
Remember to share your designs with us at Renshaw Baking on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook 🙂
